A LETTER FROM THE COOK

Food has always been an important element in our lives.  For Asian families, it's what brings people together, it's what we celebrate with and yes, it's even what people gossip about. Growing up, my mother always emphasized the importance of being able to feed your family.  As a first generation immigrant, I didn't want to spend my time learning how to cook.  I didn't see the value in it.  As a result, I'm unable to make traditional Asian dishes, and I crave them! I solely rely on my mother to make these traditional dishes for me and I realized if these traditional recipes and methodologies aren't preserved, they will be lost.

That's how My Asian Dish began.

The website is to be shared with anyone who wants to learn how to make a true Asian dish, straight from the homeland of Thailand, Laos and Vietnam.  This website is not for professional chefs, it's for cooks. Cooks, like you and I who want to learn, taste, experience and share.

I hope you enjoy learning about some of my favorite dishes and encourage you to share these recipes with your families and friends or submit your own traditional Asian recipe that you want to share with the world.

Happy cooking!
